We are off to Orlando and the IAAPA convention. Can’t wait to show the world what we can do for them! This company is 25 years in the making, prepared to soar to the highest of heights, with the best in the world.
We are excited to announce the beginning of our new Christmas attraction at Gardner Village in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s called, “The Great Christmas Adventure” and will feature an elf village, buildable snowmen, a ride on the elf express through a lighted Christmas tree forest, and a flight on Utah’s first motion simulator experience to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. We are excited to introduce our team of designers and artists to the community and see this attraction become an annual tradition for many families in that area.
This past spring, our artists finished work on an interactive museum exhibit designed to tell the story of how a famous book was translated into Spanish. We had a small space to work with but found a way to give the viewers a journey to another time and place if they ignored the plain white walls surrounding our exhibit.
We found creative ways to hide the lighting inside of the furniture so that it came from a place unseen by the audience. We also synced a video to the show that periodically added visual elements to the story.
Finished off with an interactive button allowing the show to be automated by the museum visitor. It was a simple exhibit, the least elaborate of the three multi-media, animatronic, video mapping, themed “shows” we have created for this client. However, a couple of days after it opened, I watched as a young couple form the university experienced all three of our Popcorn Attractions exhibits there, and so subtly I made an excuse (posing as a museum staffer, of course) to ask them what they thought of each show. Their answers intrigued me. Although they enjoyed aspects of each one, they said that their favorite was the new and simplest one because they learned the most. Interesting. I thought about it afterwards and came to the conclusion that it is most often best to communicate simply and not overcrowd your story and/or message. So fun to watch history comes to life through the eyes of these patrons.

This month we are creating an entirely different Christmas themed event/attraction with our new partners, The Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway, UTAH. This swiss themed hotel seemed like a perfect fit for our newest attraction, “ELVz ACADEMY.”
Debuting December 9, 2016 and running through mid-January, this one-of-a-kind attraction features our sleigh ride simulator, dozens of costumed characters interacting with the visitors while craft making, toy making, toy testing, elfercizing, building indoor snowmen, having snowball fights, delivering presents aboard The Elf Express, etc. Children will also be challenged to find “Christmas Central” – a special room where all the magic originates from. Families will be given a special code to find this hidden room after they have earned all of their stickers to become an honorary elf this season.
We are so excited for this new venue, and thankful for the makeover our staff has been able to create in a relatively short period of time. Happy Holidays everyone!
We have opinions on what is fun and what’s not that great for families. Having children ranging from age 1 to 23 is informative, coupled with our need (desire) to travel great distances each summer to see all that America has to offer, we have earned the right to have opinions! So, we’ve decided that we can be of service to our fellowmen by providing an all expense-paid visit with our family to our favorite theme park and other area experiences.
Here’s some of the places we’ve recently toured that we cannot wait spill the beans about:
WASHINGTON D.C. SMITHSONIAN MUSEUMS
HOLLYWOOD THEME PARK Pidgeon Forge, TN
HERSHEY WORLD and the HERSHEY MUSEUM, PA
TIMES SQUARE NYC, NY
LEAVENWORTH (Bavarian Village), WA
MARCELINE, MI (Walt Disney’s hometown)
VALLEY FAIR AMUSEMENT PARK and NICKELODEON UNIVERSE, MN
THE WISCONSIN DELLS and THE GREAT WOLF LODGE
just to name a few!
We are working on gathering reviews and pictures from our cast of characters (family members) and looking forward to sharing them with our friends, family, and fans! Stay tuned.
